Game Design: brainstorming
Make a Wish » Devlog
Things I'm trying to figure out:
- How does the faeries' magic work? I thought that the requirement was that, in order for their magic to work, kids would first need to believe that faeries are real, which could mean that the player(s) would first need to turn kids into believers. How will that be reflected in the mechanics? I'm not sure yet.
- When do people typically make wishes? Thanks to some help from Twitter, I now have enough prompts to make a D20 table.
- What kind of stuff could kids want to wish for? This might sound like something that would be easier to brainstorm but, when you have virtually no memories from your childhood due to C-PTSD and thus don't really remember what it's like to be a kid or what kinds of stuff kids typically wish for... it gets complicated. Regardless, I already have some ideas, they might just be a bit... uninspired.
