Game Design: brainstorming


Things I'm trying to figure out:

  • Will the game be played entirely from the monster's perspective (which was my first idea) or will you also be able to play as the kid?
  • If you can play both as the monster and the kid, will this be a solo game or a game for two players? Maybe both?
  • What mechanics best fit what I'm looking for? Right now, I'm looking at both Honey Heist and Monsters and Other Childish Things for inspiration (Honey Heist more from a mechanics point of view and MaoCT more for the theme and the monsters).
  • Regardless of the number of players, what type of game will it be? Will it be a journaling game or a more traditional TTRPG?
